Dubliner, Brendan Daly plays a diverse and eclectic mixture of Irish music, featuring everything from the classics of John McCormick and Tommy Dorsey, to The Chieftains, Dubliners, Makem & Clancy and right up to today's new Irish music, The Frames, Lisa Hannigan, Roisin Murphy, Imelda May, and Mick Flannery.

The Irish Radio show is proud to feature local musicians. You can hear Shilelagh Law, Jameson's Revenge, The Prodigals, Hair of the Dog, Cherish the Ladies, and many more.

Vassar College and Brendan Daly have gotten permission from R.T.E., Ireland's National Public Broadcaster, to re-transmit some of their great radio programs on WVKR for listeners in the Hudson Valley and beyond.
This is a first in the USA for WVKR.

"College radio is non-commercial and I volunteer to do this because I like Irish music. I do not get paid and it is a one man operation. I buy my music, produce the show, present the show, answer the phone, log the playlist, sweep the floor...etc. Because of this, sometimes mistakes happen. It's all part of the show!
